• Loosen the screws (Item 11) and remove the lantern (Item 3) together
with the impeller and shaft seal from the pump housing.
• Remove the circlip (Item 7) from the pump shaft.
• Remove the impeller (Item 2) from the pump shaft.
• Remove the spacer ring (Item 6) from the pump shaft.
• Remove the mechanical seal (Item 5) from the pump shaft.
• Pull the pump shaft out of the lantern.
• Push the counter ring of the mechanical seal out of its seating in the
lantern and clean the seating surfaces.
• Clean the seating surfaces of the pump shaft carefully. If the shaft is
damaged, it must be replaced.
To install the mechanical seal for pumps with a standard motor, please
refer to Fig. 3:
• Insert the new counter ring.
• Insert the pump shaft back into the lantern.
• Push the new mechanical seal (Item 5) onto the shaft.
• Push the spacer ring (Item 6) onto the pump shaft.
• Push the impeller (Item 2) onto the pump shaft.
• Push the new circlip (Item 7) onto the pump shaft.
• Insert a new O-ring (Item 8).
• Insert the lantern (Item 3) with impeller and shaft seal into the pump
housing and screw into place.
• Install the motor as described in chapter 9.1.1 "Changing the motor
(pump version with one-piece shaft)" on page 39.
• Comply with the commissioning measures, see chapter 8 "Commis-
sioning" on page 37.
Have faults remedied by qualified personnel only! Observe the
safety instructions in chapter 9 "Maintenance" on page 38.
• If the malfunction cannot be rectified, consult a specialist techni-
cian or the nearest Wilo customer service or representative office.
Spare parts may be ordered via a local specialist and/or Wilo after-
sales service.
To avoid queries and incorrect orders, all data of the rating plate
should be submitted for each order.
CAUTION! Risk of material damage!
Trouble-free pump operation can only be guaranteed when origi-
nal spare parts are used.
• Only use original Wilo spare parts.
• Information to be provided when ordering spare parts:
• Spare part number
• Name/description of the spare part
• All data on the pump and motor rating plate
