S2000-MSH-CM Ceiling Mount

This manual covers the installation of the S2000-MSH-CM. It is designed to hold the S2000-MSH Maximum Secu-
rity Housing on a ceiling surface. The Ceiling Mount has a 4-slot pattern to install the mount. The Ceiling Mount
should only be installed by a qualified technician using approved materials, construction and wiring practices in
accordance with national, state and local electrical codes. Read these instructions thoroughly and refer to Vicon
Installation & Operation Manual XX077 for complete Housing instructions.

S2000-MSH-CM Installation

1. Unpack the Ceiling Mount from its box.
2. Refer to Figure 1. Select a suitable mounting
location and verify that there is sufficient cable to
reach the entry hole in the rear of the Housing.
Verify that there are no utility cables, conduit,
pipes or obstructions directly behind the mount-
ing location.
CAUTION: Install Ceiling Mount only to ceilings
that can support the weight of the en-
tire assembly which is approximately
25 lb (11.3 kg).
3. Using the Ceiling Mount as a template, mark and
drill mounting holes in the ceiling and trace and
cut the cable installation hole. Drill through-holes
for bolts or pilot-holes for Lag Screws.
4. Place the mount against the ceiling and feed the
cables through. Line up the mounting holes with
the drilled holes.
5. It is recommended to use four 3/8-in. (9.5-mm)-
diameter lag-type stainless steel screws or bolts
with lock washers and flat washers. Verify all
mounting hardware is tightly secured.
6. Prepare the Housing in accordance with its man-
ual. Refer to Figure 2. Place a drop of silicone
sealant on one side of each of the four (4) Nylon
Washers. Press a Washer over each of the
Mounting Holes in the Housing to align with the
through-holes.
7. Lift the Housing to the Ceiling Mount and connect
it using the four (4) provided Tamperproof
Screws. Verify that the Washers do not slide.
Use the Tamperproof Bit provided with the
Mounting Bracket for installing screws. Verify all
mounting hardware is tightly secured.
8. Installation is complete. Continue the S2000-
MSH Housing installation in accordance with In-
stallation & Operation Manual XX077.
