Department

Your machine is equipped with 20 standard departments, and can be equipped with a maximum of 99
departments.
Use the following procedure to program for departments.
Select the desired dept. code from
the departments list.
The screen continues.

Program each item as follows:
NOTE
For more information about the entry patterns, see the "Basic
Instructions" section.
• PRICE (Use the numeric entry)
Unit price (max. 6 digits)
NOTE
When the zero-value department entry (unit price "0") is made, a
text of the department is only displayed/printed.
• SIGN (Use the selective entry)
+: Assigns a plus sign to departments for normal sales
transactions.
–: Assigns a minus sign for minus transactions.
• DPT.01<Default for dept.1> (Use the character entry)
Description for a department. Up to 8 or 16 characters can
be entered.
• ITEM VP (Use the selective entry)
COMPUL.:
Makes item validation printing compulsory.
NON-COMPUL.: Makes item validation printing non-
compulsory.
• TARE NO. (Use the numeric entry)
Tare table number associated with scale entry (1 thru 9).
• SCALE (Use the selective entry)

• A hash department is used to enter the amount of a special
"sale," such as a gift certificate, etc. Any amounts entered
in this department are not added to the grand total
exclusive of tax amounts.
