Defective switching unit in the control button switch
Interruption in the control cable
Defect of capacitor (only for alternating current 1).
Electric Hoists
Overheat protection has tripped*
Defective coil - mechanic or electric overload
Pneumatic hoists
Operation pressure/ quantity of air is too low
and winches
After prolonged standstill
Overload protection is activated - (with overload)
Overload protection is activated - (with =< nominal
For motor driven
load)
chain hoists.
and winches
No or incorrect power transmission
For motor driven
Blockage due to chain link pointing sideways in the
chain hoists.
feed from the chain container*
Defective coil
Rotor is rubbing
Electric hoists and
Brake does not release
winches
Defect of capacitor (only for alternating current 1).
Defect of starter relay (only for alternating current 1).
Phase failure (only direct control)
Electric hoists and
Switching error after intervention in the electric circuit
winches
Brake linings are worn or dirty.
For motor driven
units.
Air gap is too large
Electrical equip-
Air gap of main brake too large; brake lining of main
ment with 2nd
brake worn or dirty
brake
Brake rectifier defective
Brake current relay defective
Brake coil is defective
Electric hoists and
winches
Permissibe air gap is exceeded due to worn out
brake lining
Power drop in the mains power line > 10%
Pneumatic hoists
Operation pressure/ quantity of air is too low
and winches
Short circuit in component
Motor has a short circuit in the body or windings
Electric hoists and
winches
Motor is switched incorrectly
Wrong type of fuse
Motorised units
Chain cannot run through the unit without error
with AK9 hoist unit
Operating limit switch is stuck / defective
Sliding block assembled in uncorrect groove
direction.
Sliding block is worn.
Missing of driving actuation due to worn of
defective chain wheels and/or roller chains.
Blocking and/or dirt of cross lead screw and/or
guiding rollers/rail.
Roller chain is tensioned incorrectly or is worn.
Remedy
Check connection to mains supply
exchange 2 phases
(see waring note at the plug)
Replace the fuse
Replace the switching unit
Check control cable and replace if necessary.
Replace the capacitor
Allow engine to cool
Motor must be repaired by a specialist
If the unit is suitable for explosive atmosphere, the motor
must be returned to the manufactuerer for repair!*
Check connection to mains supply
See maintenance - pneumatic motor
Reduce the load to nominal load
Check settings and reset if necessary
Let the unit be repaired by en expert
For EX-hoists, please clarify with the manufacturer what to
do!*
Check the chain - lubricate if necessary
and/or select a larger chain container so that the chain
can be properly arranged before the inlet
Motor must be repaired by a specialist
If the unit is suitable for explosive atmosphere, the motor
must be returned to the manufactuerer for repair!*
See problem "Brake does not release"
Replace the capacitor
Replace the starter relay
Find the cause and repair
Check the electric connection of the brake acc. to the
wiring diagram
Brake lining carrier must be changed completely
If the unit is suitable for explosive atmosphere, the brake
must be returned to the manufacturer for repair!*
Re-adjust the air gap
If the unit is suitable for explosive atmosphere, the brake
must be returned to the manufacturer for repair!*
Readjust air gap, if necessary replace lining carrier
If the unit is suitable for explosive atmosphere, the brake
must be returned to the manufacturer for repair!*
Replace the brake rectifier
If the unit is suitable for explosive atmosphere, the brake
must be returned to the manufacturer for repair!*
Replace the brake current relay
Replace the brake coil
If the unit is suitable for explosive atmosphere, the brake
must be returned to the manufacturer for repair!*
Re-adjust the air gap and exchange the brake lining if
necessary
If the unit is suitable for explosive atmosphere, the brake
must be returned to the manufacturer for repair!*
Provide correct power supply voltage
Check connection to mains supply
Eliminate the short circuit
Correct the problem by a specialist
For EX-hoists, please clarify with the manufacturer what to
do!*
Correct the switching
Replace the fuse with correct one
(see table "fuses")
Check / align / clean and lubricate chain if necessary
Clean operating limit switch and repair if necessary.
Disassemble the sliding blck and assemble it in
correct groove direction.
Effect maintenance, assemble a new sliding
block acc. to the instructions.
Effect maintenance, if necessary exchange
chain wheels and roller chains.
Effect maintenance, remove possible blocking
or dirt, if necessary exchange defective parts.
Lubricate afterwards.
