OPERATION

6.3 Setting Deck Pitch

Mower
should
be
operated
with
the
deck
approximately 3/4" HIGHER IN THE FRONT THAN
THE REAR.
Operating the mower at this pitch will allow the
mower to cut the grass twice and can result in a
more even cut and improved distribution of the cut
material.
IMPORTANT:
Adjust the leveling rods the same amount and
maintain equal tension in the rods. Improper
adjustment may cause rods to snap or bend. Re-
tighten the jamnuts after the deck pitch has been
set.
To set the deck pitch, first block the front of the
cutter under the skids. Lower the cutter until; the
tension is removed from the tension links and the
adjustment lugs can be moved easily. Before
making any adjustments, ensure the tractor is in
park, the engine is shut off and the ignition key is
removed
To raise the front of the cutter the lift rod needs to
be shortened. To lower the front of the cutter the lift
rod needs to be lengthened. To do this loosen the
nuts on the rear of the lift rod and adjust them until
the proper deck pitch is set. Once the deck pitch is
set, re-tighten the jam nut.
