OPERATION

13.3 Locking the Cutter for Transport

A transport lock bar is provided for the center lift
cylinder and a ball valve is provided on the
hydraulic wing lift circuit. When the transport lock
bar is used on the center lift cylinder it prevents
the mower from suddenly dropping due to a
hydraulic cylinder or hose failure. When the ball
valve is actuated it prevents oil flow in the
hydraulic wing lift circuit so the wings of the
mower cannot be activated accidentally.
FULLY extend the center lift cylinder so that the
transport lockup bar can fit around the center
cylinder rod. Fully retract the wing cylinders until
the wings are in the transport position. Once the
wings are in the transport position actuate the
handle of the ball valve so the handle is 90
degrees to the ball valve body. This will prevent
any oil flow to wing lift cylinders.

13.4 Transporting on Public Roadways

Extreme caution should be used when transporting the tractor and mower on public roadways. The tractor
must be equipped with all required safety warning features including a SMV emblem and flashing warning
lights to alert drivers of the tractor's presence. Remember that roadways are primarily designed for automotive
drivers and most drivers will not be looking out for you, therefore, you must look out for them. Check your side
view mirrors frequently and remember that vehicles will approach quickly because of the tractor's slower
speed. Be extremely cautious when the piece of equipment that you are towing is wider than the tractor tire
width and/or extends beyond your lane of the road.
If the rotary cutter obscures the tractor warning or tail lights, the rotary cutter MUST be equipped with a
transport light kit. See the 'Assembly Section' for installation instructions.
