INTRODUCTION We are pleased to have you as an Schulte customer. Your Rotary Cutter has been carefully designed with care and built with quality materials by skilled workers to give maximum service with minimum down time. This manual is provided to give you the necessary operating and maintenance instructions for keeping your rotary cutter in top operating condition.
INTRODUCTION The GX-150 general duty rotary Cutter is designed primarily for weeds, grass, and brush to 4” diameter. The side skirts are 13-5/8” deep. This additional room under the deck, along with high blade tip speeds allows for a better cut and better material flow. The one piece center shield allows for easy and full access to drivelines, clutches and gearboxes on the center section.
ALWAYS OPERATE WITH THE WING HYDRAULIC CYLINDER CONTROL VALVES IN A FLOAT POSITION. • For maximum performance and service life, Always use Genuine Schulte replacement parts. Operating Noise Level/Sound Pressure The sound levels at the operator's ear from the attached machine (rotary cutter) are at least 10 dB(A) below the levels from typical Agricultural tractors used to power and transport this machine.

• The Dealer must keep the failed part until the claim is processed, to allow Schulte Industries the option of further examination of the part. Further examination may mean that pictures are sent, or that the part be returned to Schulte.
Chain Guards The GX-150 comes standard with single or double chain guards. Use the Parts Manual for chain guard locations on the rotary cutter. If your machine is equipped with single safety chains insert the first link of the 5 link chain into the first slot of the chain rail.
ASSEMBLY Assembly from Truck Shipment The following are instructions to set up a GX-150 cutter that has been delivered on a truck. When the cutter is received the hitch will be flipped back onto the cutter as shown on Figure AsmP-R- 0465.

Pictures contained in this section are intended to be used as a visual aid to assist in explaining the operation of a flex-wing rotary cutter and are not necessarily of a GX-150 cutter. Some pictures may show shields removed for picture clarity. NEVER OPERATE this implement without all shields in place and in good operational condition.
The recommended tractor HP for the GX-150 is 85 HP, minimum 50 HP. Operating the mower with a tractor that does not have enough power will produce a less desirable cut and may cause tractor engine damage.

OPERATION Figure Ops-1014 shows a GX-150 cutter set-up with clockwise blade rotation on the center section and right wing, and counter clockwise blade rotation on the left wing. EXAMPLES: If there is material buildup in Sections B + E, raise shrouds 1+ 5 to allow some material out sooner.
NOTE: The following description is for a single lane highway (one lane of traffic in each direction). If the GX-150 with standard rotation is used “against traffic”, it may leave a strip of longer grass in the left tire track. If the cutter is to be consistently used for cutting “against traffic”, it is recommended...
