Ventilation should meet local environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and regulations.
Air conditioning
As with all equipment installations, to maintain operating conditions, air conditioning in the work area must
compensate for heat produced by the equipment. Typically, the printer's power dissipation is in the range of 4–6
kW (13.6–20.5 kBTU/h). If local exhaust is installed for the lamp outlet (air is ducted out of the room), the power
dissipation into the room decreases to 2.5 kW (8.5 kBTU/h).
Exhaust air temperature
The temperature of the air coming out of the printer may be up to 90°C (194°F) at the lamp exhaust duct, at sea
level. This should be considered when configuring your exhaust and HVAC system.
Typically, the printer's power dissipation without local exhaust is in the range of 4–6 kW (13.6–20.5 kBTU/h).
If local exhaust is installed for lamp outlet, the power dissipation into the room decreases to 2.5 kW (8.5 kBTU/h).
NOTE:
Most of the hot air produced by the printer comes out of the top left, so that is where you should place
an extractor hood if you wish to use one, to avoid heating the whole room.
Material storage
Material storage, handling, and disposal should be performed as per local laws. See the Safety Data Sheets at
http://www.hp.com/go/msds
processes and procedures.
NOTE:
Material and agent cartridges are designed to have an 18 month shelf life from the day they are
manufactured.

Electrical requirements

NOTE:
Electrical requirements are not the same as for other HP Jet Fusion 3D printers; please review the
requirements carefully.
A certified electrician is required for the setup and configuration of the building's electrical system as well as
connecting the power cable to the printer according to the electrical installation details in this guide.
It is the customer's responsibility to make sure that the electrician is appropriately certified according to local
regulations, and to provide a copy of this document to the certified electrician who will validate and/or configure
the building's electrical system used to power the printer to meet the printer's electrical requirements and the
Electrical Code requirements of the local jurisdiction of the country where the equipment is installed.
NOTE:
The printer is supplied without a power cable. Your electrician must provide a power cable that meets
the electrical requirements described in the power specifications table.
