5.2.1.3 LRES (Carriage position) detection

The left and right carriage positions are detected using one LRES sensor provided on the back of the carriage and
the left and right shield plates provided on the upper stay. The shield plates are different in length in the direction
in which the carriage moves.
The LRES uses a photo interloper (packaged device include LED and photo transistor) and detects the presence of
