Connecting Cables to the GX 550 ES Extender

After the GX 550 ES extender is set up in the desired location, cables must be installed
to connect it to a GX 550 Multiservice WAN switch and to the network.

GX 550 Multiservice WAN Switch Connection

Connect the GX 550 ES to the GX 550 switch by attaching the multimode fiber cable
from the uplink phy module in the GX 550 ES extender to the downlink phy module
in the GX 550 switch as follows:
1. Remove the protective cover from the uplink phy module at the back of the
GX 550 ES extender (see
