Moving the GX 550 ES to the Installation Site
Due to the large size and weight of a fully configured GX 550 ES extender, Lucent
recommends moving the extender to the installation site before unpacking it from the
shipping carton.
Caution – A fully configured GX 550 ES extender weighs up to 85 pounds. To

avoid potential injury, use a hand lift for moving or rack-mounting the extender.
Unpacking the GX 550 ES Extender
To unpack the GX 550 ES:
1. Open the carton and remove all enclosed packing materials from the shipping
carton. Save the packing materials in case you need to repack the GX 550 ES later.
2. Using a #2 Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the screws from the L-brackets on
the delivery pallet (see
