T1 and CSU T1 Network LIM Interface

The T1 Network LIM provides a DSX-1 interface at 1.544 Mbits/s. The CSU T1 Network LIM has
integral CSU that can be connected directly to the network. Both Network LIMs also support the
following:
Fractional T1 services
D4 and ESF formats
Alternate Mark Inversion (AMI) and Bipolar with 8 Zero Substitution (B8ZS) line codes
Recovers the clock from the T1 line for use in OCM clocking when configured for slave timing
Front panel LED indicators for local (red alarm), remote (yellow alarm), in service or not in
service, and self-test passed or failed.
Redundant or non-redundant operation.
Plug-in Options
The T1 plug-in card options are typically set at the factory to match your network operation. Check
these settings when you first install the unit. You need not repeat the procedure unless you change
your network.
1. Examine the option switch on the plug-in interface card.
For the T1 plug-in refer to and the corresponding illustration for switch location and
option descriptions.
For the CSU T1 plug-in refer to and the corresponding illustration for switch location and
option descriptions.
2. When you are satisfied that the plug-in options are set correctly, install the LIM module in the
shelf as described previously in this section under the paragraph on
036R340-000
