Target Group

This manual is intended for use by the system administration and all users of the HiPath
Xpressions Compact.
1.2

Functions Description / Overview

HiPath Xpressions Compact is a system for operating voice mailboxes with various feature
sets, including automatic call answering. The system consists of a plug-in PCB module that
was designed for use in Hicom/HiPath telephone systems. The system is administrated with
the HiPath 3000 Manager C or the HiPath 3000 Manager E.
HiPath Xpressions Compact offers the following functionality:
Depending on the system type and the HiPath Xpressions Compact product variant, up to

8 or 24 ports, i.e. up to 8 or 24 concurrent switching and call answering operations
100 hours of voice recording capacity

Two user interfaces (Telephone User Interface), the standard interface is similar to that of

Version 1.0. Also available is the Xpressions interface, where control of the functions with
the keypad has been adapted to the Xpressions V3.0 interface (identical keys for identical
functions)
Support of the multi-customer capability of a HiPath 3000 (e.g., in shared offices with one

telephone system)
Maximum message length of 3, 8, or 20 minutes per voice mailbox, depending on the mail-
●
box configuration
Notification phone call according to set time after receipt of new voice messages; either as
●
a telephone call, pager message* or as Short Message Service* (SMS)
Classification of messages as private, urgent, and standard
●
Date and time-stamp for each message
●
Distribution of messages to all mailboxes (Broadcast) or to special distribution lists
●
Call back function to callers who have left a message (CLIP service required)
●
Automatic deletion of old messages after a set time
●
Alternative greetings according to day, night, type of call, or calendar
●
Auto-Attendant (automatic call answering, greeting and switching, day and night-time
●
operation); also: name selection for transferring call
