Before first Use

Remove the grass and hedge shears and the accessory from the
packaging. Keep packaging materials out of reach of small children.
There is risk of suffocation!
Do not dispose off the protective covers for the blades of the grass and
hedge shears. To protect you from serious injuries and when not in use
always slip the protective covers over the blades.

Charging the Battery

Charge the battery before first use.
1. Insert the battery into the charging station (12) and connect the
charger (16) with the charging station and the wall socket. The
rechargeable battery (1) fits in one position only into the charging
station. The charging indicator lamp (15) turns on red and indicates
that the battery is charged.
2. After charging process (3 – 5 hours) the charging indicator lamp
(15) turns on green. Remove the battery from the charging station
and unplug the power cord.
Hints:
The electronics protects the battery from over-charging, over-
heating and total discharge. There is no loss of charge. The battery
is characterised by low self-discharge. A fully charged battery is
always ready for use, even if you do not use it for months.
A battery that is new or has not been used for a longer period does
not develop its full capacity until after approx. 5 charg-
ing/discharging cycles. When properly using the battery it can be
charged up to 1000 times.
If you notice during operation that the blade movement slows down
or stops abruptly, the battery is discharged. Always avoid discharg-
ing the battery completely.
We recommend ordering a second battery under the article no. 81
50 51, so will be able to operate the grass and hedge shears con-
tinuously.
