1. Removing the Factory Windshield A. Remove the four screws that attach the windshield to the plastic mounting cage (photo below). Use a 4mm Allen (hex) wrench. You will not be needing those screws or the cage. B. Remove the plastic cage by taking out the two screws holding the rear of the cage on (using a 5mm Allen wrench) and the two holding the front of the cage on use a 4mm Allen wrench).
2. Attaching The Brackets The MadStad brackets attach to the same four mounting points as the factory cage, just with different hardware. The knobs will face inward, and the rubber well nuts face forward as seen in the photo at right. Take an M6 x 35 screw with flat washer on it and insert it into the front mounting point from the outside to the inside, and on the inside slide the long plastic spacer...

Pivot Screws The MadStad mount has a pivot screw on each set of brackets, located near the middle of brackets. A nylon lock nut keeps the screw in place, yet allows the brackets to slide back and forth. It is adjusted at the factory to have a minimum of play yet still allow the brackets to move.
