Process errors without message

Symptoms
Measured-value reading shown on
display, even though the fluid is at a
standstill and the measuring tube is
full.
The fault cannot be rectified or
some other fault not described
above has occurred.
In these instances, please contact
your Endress+Hauser
service organization.
Cause
Sensor:
Coil current is out of tolerance.
Pulse output:
The pulse output frequency is
outside the permitted range.
• PASSIVE-POSITIVE
PASSIVE-NEGATIVE
f > 1 : (2 ⋅ pulse width)
• AUTO. PULSEWIDTH
f > 12.5 kHz
Device data are being uploaded or
downloaded by means of a control
unit. It is not possible to execute
any other functions.
Simulation of measurand active
(volume flow)
Cause
The volume flow is too high.
Rectification
1. Check the fluid for presence of gas bubbles.
2. Activate the "LOW FLOW CUTOFF" function, i.e. enter or increase the
value for the switching point.
The following options are available for tackling problems of this nature:
Request the services of an Endress+Hauser service technician.
If you contact our service organization to have a service technician sent out,
please be ready with the following information:
– Brief description of the fault
– Nameplate specifications (→ Page 6): Order code and serial number
Returning devices to Endress+Hauser
The procedures on Page 4 must be carried out before you return a flowmeter
requiring repair or calibration to Endress+Hauser. Always enclose a duly
completed "Declaration of contamination" form with the flowmeter. You will
find a preprinted "Declaration of contamination" form at the back of these
Operating Instructions.
Replace transmitter electronics

Remedy / spare part
– Measure the coil resistance.
– Replace sensor or transmitter if necessary.

1. Increase the setting for pulse value.
and/or
2. Reduce flow

Wait under the process is completed. The
device is restarted automatically.
Switch off simulation.
