NOTE:
Your computer's Service Tag is stored in the system board. You must enter the Service Tag in the BIOS setup
program after you replace the system board.
NOTE:
Replacing the system board removes any changes you have made to the BIOS using the BIOS setup program. You
must make the appropriate changes again after you replace the system board.
NOTE:
Before disconnecting the cables from the system board, note the location of the connectors so that you can
reconnect the cables correctly after you replace the system board.

Prerequisites
1. Remove the
right-side
cover.
2. Remove the
memory
module.
3. Remove the
solid-state
drive.
4. Remove the
wireless
card.
5. Remove the
graphics
card.
6. Remove the
processor
fan.
7. Remove the processor.
Procedure
NOTE:
Note the routing of all cables while removing the system board so that you can replace them correctly.
1. Lay the computer on the left side and disconnect the front-audio cable from the system board.
2. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
3. Disconnect the processor-power cable from the system board.
4. Press the securing clip and disconnect the power-button board cable from the system board.
5. Press the securing clip and disconnect the power-supply unit cable from the system board.
6. Disconnect the USB 2.0 cable from the system board.
7. Disconnect the USB 3.0 cable from the system board.
8. Disconnect the optical-drive power cable from the system board.
9. Disconnect the 3.5-inch hard-drive data cable from the system board.
10. Disconnect the 2.5-inch hard-drive cable from the system board.
11. Disconnect the USB 3.1 Type-C port cable from the system board (applicable only for computers shipped with AMD R3/R5/R7
processors).
