USB AND SD CARD OPERATION

USB AND SD CARD PLAYBACK (DIRECT METHOD)

Direct Playback Method plays files directly from these drives with the audio signal bypassing all network or computer
routing. Using the IR remote eliminates all network needs and can make playback of your stored music files very simple and
easy. If you wish to use the Cary Audio Streamer 2.0 app to access and control playback, the DMS-800PV will need a
network connection just for control purposes. The audio signal path will still bypass all network and computer routing.
The USB and SD Card inputs include USB 1 (Front), USB 2, 3 (Rear), and SD Card (Front). Like PC Share, The DMS-800PV
must index the drive's library the first time it is selected. Please note that this can take a while, depending on the size of
your drive. USB-connected HDDs are limited to 7 TB. Additionally, it is best to only insert a USB drive into the DMS before
powering it on and not while playing.
NOTE: SD Cards must be formatted to FAT, FAT32, or NTFS. DMS-800PV supports SDHC 32GB & SDXC up to 2TB.
1.
Insert a USB hard disc drive, USB flash/thumb drive, or SD Card into the desired port. Once inserted, a pop-up
message will say, "The USB 2 Port is mounted," meaning the DMS-800PV has successfully connected to it.
2.
Navigate to your preferred USB or SD Card source with the Up, Down keys and select it by pressing Enter.
3.
Navigate to your selections by using the Up and Down keys. To expand the selection, press Enter or press > on the
handheld remote.
4.
Navigate to your desired music selection and press Play. You can also press the Play All when available to play all
selections beneath it.
NOTE: You can also select Add or Delete from the IR remote to create a Queue or playlist. See the Queue and Playlist
section of the manual.
