  • Page 11: About The Dms-800Pv

When we created the DMS-700, we began thinking about a no holds barred version of the DMS capable of competing with the best of the best in Network Audio Players/Streamers/DACs. First, it would have to exceed the performance of the DMS-700, which is no small feat. After considerable research and design, the DMS-800 Professional Version (PV) was born.

INSTALLATION UNPACKING This section describes the proper unpacking and installation procedures. Unpacking All Cary Audio shipping cartons have been specially designed to protect their contents, and special care has been taken to prevent damage under normal shipping conditions. Mishandling should be evident upon inspection of the shipping container.
  • Page 13: Isolation Feet

ISOLATION FEET The DMS-800PV uses a unique combination of isolation spikes and aluminum discs to reduce vibrations and resonance. This is an integral part of the design, and it is highly recommended that these be used. Doing so will improve the overall frequency extension.

TRUBIT™ DSD AND PCM UPSAMPLING AND PCM TO DSD CONVERSION Upsampling can be messy, leaving behind lots of digital artifacts resulting in noise and inaccurate signal generation. On the surface, upsampling may seem like a good idea. But if not implemented properly, it can be disastrous. Typically, upsampling is done as a predefined one-size-fits-all approach, such as 96 kHz or 384 kHz.
