ANNEX A
The essential health and safety requirements for machinery can only be made compliant partly by Barrus.
Therefore Barrus recommends to double-check the paragraphs from Annex 1 of the Directive 2006/42/EC
mentioned below for compliance with the Directive for your particular machine.

1.2 CONTROL SYSTEMS

Safety and reliability of
control systems
The control systems are designed and constructed to withstand the intended operating

stresses and external influences. A fault in the hardware or software of the control system,
errors in the control system logic, or reasonably foreseen human error during operation does
not lead to hazardous situations. The operation of the control systems is to be designed and
implemented by the boat builder. Contact Barrus for advice if required.

The engine is fitted with the basic required control devices. The location and operation of
these, and other, control systems is to be designed and implemented by the boat builder.

Starting

The operation of the starting system is controlled by a key switch on the panel. Contact
Barrus for advice if required. The location and operation of this, and other, control systems is
to be designed and implemented by the boat builder. Contact Barrus for advice if required.

The operation of the starting system is controlled by a key switch on the panel. The engine
is fitted with a control device (energized to run stop solenoid) whereby it can be brought safely
to a complete stop. The location and operation of this, and other, control systems is to be
