JUMP STARTING

Connect batteries with only the
same nominal voltage (12 volts).
Use jump leads with insulated
clamps and adequate size cable. Do
not disconnect the battery from the
vehicle's electrical system.
Suitable jump leads can be obtained
from your dealer.
To connect the leads
Position the vehicles so that they
do not touch one another.
Switch off the engine. Switch off
any unnecessary electrical
equipment.
Connect the positive (+) terminal
of the flat battery to the positive
( +) terminal of the booster battery
(lead 1).
Connect one end of the second
lead to the negative (–) terminal of
the booster battery and the other
end to the main body ground bolt at
the left hand side suspension turret
of the engine to be started (lead 2).
Do not connect to the negative
(–) terminal of the flat battery.
Make sure that the jump leads are
clear of moving parts of the engine.
