Gears can be skipped by moving the
selector lever repeatedly at short
intervals.
Note: The transmission will
perform your manual gear selection
when the vehicle road speed and
engine speed allow. This improves
comfort and safety.
The requested gear will appear in
place of the - or + symbols in the
multifunction display, depending on
whether a lower or higher gear has
been selected. Once the
transmission has engaged the
requested gear, it will appear in the
central position.
Only logical gear selections are
possible.
Do not hold the selector
lever permanently in – or +.
Manual mode also provides a
Kickdown function. For further
details, refer to the section
Kick down on page 131.
To avoid engine stall, the
transmission will automatically
downshift when the vehicle speed is
too low.
