h. The detergent bottle is
contaminated.

or deteriorated.
k. The needle has clogged.

ambient temperature.
m. Deaeration of detergent or
mobile phase is inadequate.
n. The detergent bottle filter
(solvent filter) has clogged.
o. The non-slit septum and the
sealed plastic cap are used.
p. In present use septum has a
hole.
q. The front door is open during
an analysis.
r. Rapid change of temperature,
or direct wind.
s. The wash pump leaks.
t. Air bubbles in the wash
pump.
u. The 3-way change valve
leaks.

Remedy
h. Wash the bottle and replace
the detergent.
i. Replace the vial or septum.
j. Replace the sample.
k. Clean the needle. Or replace it.
l. Select a site where the
temperature variation is
smaller. When an air-
conditioner is used, stop it or
avoid its direct draft.
m. For the wash fluid and mobile
phase, perform online
degassing. Use a degassing
unit.
n. Wash or replace the solvent
filter.
o. Use the slit septum
p. Replace it with a new one.
q. Close the front door during an
analysis.
r. Avoid rapid changes in
temperature, and direct wind
s. Check the wash pump
setscrew and retighten if loose.
Make sure the tip of tube is not
deformed or the ferrule is not
crushed.
t. Fill it with deaerated wash fluid.
u. Check the 3-way change valve
setscrew and retighten if loose.
