8.8 Operating Procedures for Parallel System

EVO DSP PLUS TT are designed according to high MTBF figures with increased reliability but in case of necessity, a
second (or more) EVO DSP PLUS TT can be connected in parallel for supplying the very critical load to increase
reliability. Maximum of 3 pcs of identical power and specification UPS can be connected in parallel.

8.8.1 Parallel System Connection

The steps for a correct Parallel System connection are explained below.
1.
Make sure all of the UPS's are parallel models, and connect Input/Output terminals as explained in figure 7,
using external Input/Output circuit breakers.
2.
Make sure all the external Input/Output circuit breakers are "OFF".
3.
Connect each UPS one by one with the Parallel cable and Share current cable, by using the Parallel ports and
Share Current ports on the rear side (see figure 4).
4.
Turn "ON" the external Input circuit breaker and turn "ON" the Input circuit breaker on the rear side for
each UPS and measure the voltage difference between the Input Voltage and Output Voltage for each UPS
with multimeter. If the voltage difference is less than 1V, it means all connections are correct. If the
difference is larger than 1V, check if the wirings are connected correctly.
5.
Turn ON (by pressing ON button) each UPS one by one. Make sure each UPS starts correctly and works in
Normal mode. Measure the Output Voltage of each UPS to check if the voltage difference is less than 2V
(typical 1V) with multimeter. If the difference is more than 2V, please check that parallel cable or share
current cable are connected well. If they are all connected well, maybe it is an internal UPS issue. Please
contact Technical Service for help.
