Instruction Manual for Operation, Placement, Assembly and Safe Use of the Angel

Operating instructions for the Angel Anchor:

1.
Always follow all requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations.
2. The Angel Anchor must be inspected by a competent worker before each use.
3. Inspect the device for physical damage. Look carefully for any signs of cracks, dents or
deformities in the metal, welded joints or loose fasteners. Have a qualified person thoroughly
inspect all components at regular intervals.
4. Ensure that no parts are missing or damaged. (i.e. locking pin, fasteners, labels, etc.)
5. Ensure that all weights are firmly attached.
6. Confirm that the anti skid pads on underside of weights are fully attached and in good condition.
7. Verify if the roof structure is capable of resisting load of anchor, user and equipment. There
should be no tears in the anti skid pad and it should have an abrasive surface at all times that
resembles sand paper. If this surface is compromised, please contact Guardian for replacement
skid pads.
8. Always make sure the surface on which the Angel Anchor is used is free of any obstruction or
debris to ensure proper installation and operation.
9. If inspection reveals a defective condition, remove unit from service immediately.
10. Always calculate the fall distance and ensure that a clear, unobstructed distance is provided
from the point to which the worker is attached.
11. Develop a rescue plan establishing what to do if a fall were to occur.
12. Equipment must be used by trained personnel only.
13. Never use the Angel Anchor for anything other than what it was designed.
14. Always use safety related shock absorbing lanyards no longer than 6 feet.
15. Always wear a full body harness at all times when using this device.
16. Never attach more than one worker to the Angel Anchor.
17. Do not alter the Angel Anchor in any way. Doing so will cause all approvals, guarantees and
warrantees on the device to become void.
18. Any unit which has been involved in a fall should not be sued and removed from service
immediately.
19. Should any question, concern, etc. about the use, installation, operation, etc. of the Angel
Anchor arise, please consult the manufacturer first. Safety of the worker should not be
compromised by any means.
