image mode or to the main menu (A).
Accessing the child image mode
Press the side keys on the
(9) to move the cursor to the Exit icon .
When the cursor is on the relative icon, press the
centre key on the multi-function button (9) to con-
fi rm access to the child image mode.
3. Replacing the batteries on the child unit
(with image and sound transmitter function)
and rechargeable battery pack on the parent
unit (with image and sound receiver function)
Warning: These operations must only be car-
ried out by an adult.
- Only use alkaline batteries [child unit (with image
and sound transmitter function)] and rechargeable
battery packs [parent unit (with image and sound
receiver function)] equal or equivalent (with the
same electrical characteristics) to those indicated
in this manual.
• Always remove dead batteries and/or the re-
chargeable battery pack when you don't intend
to use the child unit and parent unit for a certain
length of time. This will prevent the batteries from
leaking liquid which will damage the devices and/
or anything in the vicinity.
- Do not short-circuit the battery poles.
- Never use rechargeable batteries on the child unit
(with image and sound transmitter function)
Note:
• After a period of constant use, all rechargeable
batteries slowly decrease their operating capacity
until they run out altogether and will need replac-
ing.
If the rechargeable battery pack life starts to de-
crease signifi cantly, it will be necessary to replace
it (this is normal as all rechargeable batteries run
out over time)
- The rechargeable battery pack supplied must be
recharged by inserting the parent unit (with image
and sound receiver function) into the slot (16) on
the special holder base (10), powered by the mains
adaptor (1) supplied with this product.
- Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable
batteries as they might explode.
- This product is not designed for use with lithium
batteries.
WARNING:
Improper use could be hazardous
to
multi-function button
- Never leave dead batteries in the child unit (with
image and sound transmitter function), always re-
place them immediately or they may leak corrosive
and/or hazardous liquids.
• Never leave a low rechargeable battery pack in the
parent unit (with image and sound receiver func-
tion), always recharge it immediately (or replace
if dead) as it may leak corrosive and/or hazardous
liquids.
• If the batteries happen to leak liquid, protect your
hands and replace the batteries immediately,
making sure you clean the compartment and any
other areas affected by the liquid beforehand.
Wash your hands thoroughly when you have fi n-
ished. Dispose of all dead batteries according to
the differentiated waste collection regulations in
your area. Never burn them or disperse them in
the environment.
- Never mix new and old or different types of bat-
teries on the child unit (with image and sound
transmitter function).
- When inserting the alkaline batteries in the child
unit (with image and sound transmitter function),
always check that the poles are inserted as indi-
cated on the battery compartment
- When connecting the rechargeable battery pack
on the parent unit (with image and sound receiver
function), always check that the pole is inserted in
the right direction.
- Remove the alkaline batteries/rechargeable bat-
tery pack before disposing of the product.
- Never leave alkaline batteries/rechargeable bat-
tery packs and/or any tools used to remove them
within the reach of children.
- Never burn or dispose of old alkaline batteries/
rechargeable battery packs into the environment
or with urban waste; dispose of them at an appro-
priate differentiated collection point according to
the laws in force.
3.1 Replacing alkaline batteries on the child unit
(with image and sound transmitter function)
Use a fl at headed tool to remove the screws on the
battery compartment panel (13) under the child
unit (with image and sound transmitter function)
and remove the cover. Remove all 4 alkaline bat-
teries from the compartment and replace them
with 4 identical 1.5 Volt AA batteries, making sure
the poles are inserted as indicated on the compart-
ment. Replace the battery compartment cover (13)
and tighten the screw fi rmly.
3.2 Fitting the rechargeable battery pack inside
the parent unit (with image and sound receiver
function) .
When you purchase the product, the rechargeable
battery pack (14) is not fi tted inside the parent unit
(with image and sound receiver function) and is
packed separately inside the box.
Remove the rechargeable battery pack compart-
ment cover (11) behind the receiver.
Insert the rechargeable battery pack (14) supplied,
making sure the pole is in the right direction [the
red line on the parent unit must be aligned with
the red line on the rechargeable battery pack (14)].
Position the rechargeable battery pack (14) so that
the connector and cables connected to it are always
below the battery pack and are completely unrav-
elled. Press the rechargeable battery pack compart-
ment cover (11) back into place.
