LAN Ports (LAN1/LAN2 & BMC LAN)
Two Ethernet LAN ports (LAN1/LAN2) and an IPMI dedicated LAN (BMC_LAN) are located
on the rear I/O panel. The LAN1/LAN2 ports support a 10GbE LAN connection (via the
Broadcom 5720 LAN controller). The dedicated IPMI LAN, located above the USB2/3 ports on
the rear I/O panel, provides LAN support for the BMC (Baseboard Management Controller).
All of these LAN ports accept RJ45 cables. Please refer to the LED Indicator section for LAN
LED information.
Note: To prevent the BCM57416 LAN controller from overheating, the system will disable
the LAN2 function in S5 mode.
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Ports and Headers
There are four USB 3.0 ports (USB3/4 and USB5/6) on the rear I/O panel. One 10-pin black
USB 2.0 header (USB0/1) and one USB 3.0 header (USB7/8) are located on the motherboard,
and each supports two USB connections for front access. There is also one vertical Type-A
USB 2.0 connector (USB2) on the motherboard. These USB ports and headers can be used
for USB support via USB cables (not included).
