1 1 .1 Beginning of Ea ch H ea t ing Sea son
• Check boiler area is free from com bust ible m at erials,
gasoline, and other flammable vapors and corrosive
liquids.
• Visually inspect com bust ion air and vent piping
for proper operat ion. Check for and rem ove any
obstruction to flow of combustion air or vent
gases. I m m ediat ely repair or replace pipe showing
det eriorat ion or leakage. Reassem ble per inst ruct ions
in sect ion 5. Ensure proper reassem bly and resealing
of syst em .
• Visually inspect condensat e drain line for proper
operat ion. Checking for det eriorat ed or plugged
condensat e drain line. Verify condensat e t rap drains
freely and clean as required.
• Test safet y relief valve for proper operat ion. Refer t o
valve m anufact urer's inst ruct ions packaged wit h relief
valve.
• Exam ine heat exchanger, burner, condensat e lines, and
clean ( if necessary) by following inst ruct ions in sect ion
11.3 - Com ponent Replacem ent And Cleaning.

• Circulat or pum p and com bust ion air blower m ot or
furnished wit h boiler are perm anent ly lubricat ed from
fact ory and require no furt her lubricat ion. Lubricat e
field sourced pumps and/or motors according to
pum p and/ or m ot or m anufact urer's inst ruct ion.
• Check following com ponent s are operat ing properly
and are free of blockages or obst ruct ions:
• air vent ;
• check vent uri air inlet for blockage and clean as
required;
• verify pressure t est port cap and com bust ion t est
port caps are in place;
• verify supply and ret urn sensors are properly
clipped t o pipes as close t o heat exchanger as
possible;
• Check boiler for any sign of leaks.
• Check external low water cutoff operation (if
inst alled) .
• Check operat ion by pressing t est but t on on low
water cutoff.
• " Low Wat er" LED on t he ext ernal LWCO should
illum inat e and boiler should shut down.
• Every 5 years remove low water cutoff. Reinstall
aft er cleaning.
• Every 10 years replace low water cutoff.
• Visual inspection of flame through sight glass. Burner
should be fully illum inat ed.
• Check heat ing syst em expansion t ank.
