Wat er heat ed t o t em perat ure for clot hes washing,
dish washing and ot her sanit izing needs can scald
and cause perm anent inj ury.
Children, elderly, and infirmed or physically
handicapped persons are m ore likely t o be
perm anent ly inj ured by hot wat er. Never leave
t hem unat t ended in bat ht ub or shower. Never allow
sm all children t o use a hot wat er t ap or draw t heir
own bat h.
If anyone using hot water in the building fits the
above descript ion, or if st at e laws or local codes
require cert ain wat er t em perat ures at hot wat er
t aps, you m ust t ake special precaut ions:
• Use lowest possible t em perat ure set t ing.
• I nst all som e t ype of t em pering device, such
as an aut om at ic m ixing valve, at hot wat er
t ap or wat er heat er. Aut om at ic m ixing valve
