7 .2 Ga s Pipe Recom m enda t ions
Configure gas pipe for proper operation and avoid issues
with failure to light or maintenance of proper flame
during operat ion, which could cause error codes relat ed
to flame signal.
• Incoming pipe size and pressures shall be sufficient
for all gas appliances in t he building. See Chart next
page or reference NFPA- 54.
• Use only properly rated and certified materials for
gas pipe.
• Use of Schedule 40 m et allic pipe and Corrugat ed
St ainless- St eel Tubing ( CSST) is m anufact urer
recom m ended for best perform ance.

• Use of Gas Appliance Connectors (flexible connectors
t ypically used for gas st oves or wat er heat ers) is
prohibit ed. Refer t o nat ional and local building codes.
• Each fitting in the gas supply pipe shall count as 5
equivalent feet .
• There shall be sufficient gas pressure at the boiler per
gas used and appliance rat ing plat e.
• For LP applicat ions t here shall be no less t han 10
linear feet of properly sized gas pipe excluding
fittings from the closest regulator or meter in the gas
supply piping.
