5 .1 5 Condensa t e Piping
• Use m at erials accept able t o aut horit y having
j urisdict ion. I n absence of such aut horit y:
• USA - PVC or CPVC per ASTM D1785/ D2845
Cem ent or prim er per ASME D2564 or F493.
• Canada - CSA or ULC certified PVC/CPVC pipe,
fittings and cement.
• No ext ernal t rap needed.
• Connect condensat e hose, hose clam ps, and
coupling to boiler drain trap as shown in figure 5-35.
• Connect condensat e piping t o 3/ 4" PVC as shown.
• Slope condensat e drain pipe m inim um 1/ 4" per foot
( 21 m m / m ) away from boiler.
• Support condensat e pipe t o elim inat e any sages.
• Use field source condensate pump, designated for
use wit h condensing boiler, if boiler locat ed below
disposal point .
• Condensate pump should have overflow switch.
Condensat e from Boiler is slight ly acidic and m ay
cause property damage if overflow.
• Field source condensat e neut ralizing kit as
required by aut horit y having j urisdict ion or for
environm ent ally friendly condensat e disposal.
Manufact urer requires an air vent be used t o
prevent condensat e line vacuum lock.
