Step 3: VCADS Pro Tests
Action:
Check sensor values.
Note: Loss of power can occur if one or more of the sensors show
abnormal values.
Check accelerator pedal and switches.
Check start and warm-hold function.
Note: Make sure the start and warm hold function is working properly.
Power loss can occur if the start and warm hold function is erroneously
activated.
Check fuel supply pressure at low and high engine speeds.
Check EGR function.
Check cylinder balancing.
Check cylinder compression.
Check injector function.
Check intake/exhaust system.
Check engine fan function.
Other VCADS Pro tests which require test drive or dynamometer test:
Check fuel supply pressure under full load.
Check intake manifold pressure at full load to verify that it is within specifications.
Check that response time at full engine load is within specifications.
Check that the Variable Geometry Turbocharger is functioning properly (D16D).
