Step 4: Component and Function Checks
Action:
Check that there is no carbon monoxide in the fuel.
Check for air in the fuel system.
Check the fuel lines, seals, and connections. Check for leakage, damage, or restrictions.
Check that the fuel quality is within specifications.
Check that the fuel supply pressure is within the specification from idle speed through to
full engine speed.
Check that the wiring harness for the engine control unit, including the connectors and
terminal pins, is fault free and properly connected.
Check that parameters for engine shutdown, power take-off, and cruise control are
properly set.
Check that the engine ECU receives the correct signals from the flywheel and camshaft
sensors.
Check that the oil pressure for the rocker arm shaft is within specifications when VCB
is non-active.
Check for worn or damaged injectors.
Check that the coolant temperature sensor functions properly.
Check that the intake manifold pressure sensor functions properly.
Check that the parameters for engine shutdown, power take-off, and cruise control are
properly set.
Check the fuel pump seals, valves, and shaft/gears for damage or wear.
