If daisy chaining +V DC power to the next terminal base, connect a jumper from terminal SA+ on the right side of this terminal base to terminal SA+ on the left side of the
next terminal base.

If continuing V DC common to the next terminal base, connect a jumper from terminal SA– on the right side of this terminal base to terminal SA– on the left side of the next
terminal base.

Disconnect Wires from the Terminal Base

WARNING: If you connect or disconnect wiring while power is applied, an electrical arc can occur. This could cause an explosion in hazardous location
installations. Be sure that power is removed or the area is nonhazardous before proceeding.
Disconnect wires from the terminal base.
TB Type
Action
1. Turn the screwdriver counter-clockwise to open the terminal.
Screw
2. Remove the wire.
1. Insert and hold a screwdriver in the slot above the terminal.
Spring
2. Remove the wire.
3. Pull out the screwdriver.

IMPORTANT
• We recommend that you use twisted-pair, individually shielded cable with a maximum length of 300 m (1000 ft) when connecting a differential encoder.
For more information on the cable type to use, see the encoder documentation.
• You must connect a 24V DC power source to the left SA+/– terminals to provide field-side power.
• The 5094-STB shield bar is required to wire the shields for the 5094-IJ2I and 5094-IJ2IXT modules. Order catalog number 5094-STB-QTY5 (pack of 5).
• All shield-bar screws are bussed together. You must ground the shield bar to functional earth.
