Defrosting

For defrosting frozen fruit, vegetables and baked items.

refrigerator. Not suitable for cream cakes or cream
gateaux.
Use the following shelf positions when defrosting:
1 wire rack: Position 2
2 wire racks: Positions 3 + 1
Food that has been frozen flat or in portions
Tip:
defrosts more quickly than food items frozen in a block.
Frozen food
For example cream gateaux, buttercream cakes, gateaux with chocolate
or sugar icing, fruit, chicken, sausage and meat, bread and bread rolls,
cakes and other baked items
Accessories/cookware
Cup/jar
Keep cooking times to a minimum.
Cook the food until it is golden brown. "Browned, not charred".
The larger and thicker the food, the less acrylamide it contains.
Where possible, spread out a single layer of oven chips evenly on the baking tray. To prevent the chips
from trying out quickly, cook at least 400 g on the baking tray.
