3. Use and technical description

3.1. Use of the electronic alarm- and pump switchgear

AL3PS devices are used for automatic operation of
pumps up to a power of 1kW or 6A nominal current. The
device can be used to switch pumps on and off depen-
ding on the level.
Wherever levels of conductive, non-flammable media in
containers or pits must either be maintained very preci-
sely or these liquids must be pumped out very shallowly.
Furthermore, the device can be used for alarm signalling
and flooding protection.
They report rising water levels by means of an acoustic
interval signal generator. They are equipped with an LED
for indicating the mains supply, a reset button and an in-
tegrated mains plug for plugging the device into the wall
socket. The devices can also be used for connection to
additional alarm devices via a potential-free signalling
connection. A 9 V battery pack for mains-independent
alarm can be retrofitted and is available as an accessory.
AL3PS+2SW with 2 float switches is used to control a
pump and alarm signal in case of too high liquid level (high
water alarm), e.g. in pump shafts, in pits or containers or
similar. One float switch is used for pump control, the 2nd
float switch is used for alarm signalling. Float switch with
10 m cable, ready connected.
AL3PS+EL3 with EL3 electrode sensor (wall mounting)
is also used to control a pump with alarm signal. e.g. in
narrow shafts. The measuring principle is based on the
measurement of the conductivity of liquids. The immersi-
on of the electrodes in the liquid is detected and a signal is
triggered. (Principle only effective with conductive liquids
such as drinking water).
AL3PS+EL3+PUKIT as above, but additionally with pump
connection kit for direct mounting of the electrode sensor
to a pump (description see attachment)

4. Guarantee

Before guarantee services can be carried out on the equip-
ment described in this manual the instructions contained
in this manual must have been observed and adhered to,
particularly in relation to usage, installation and operation.

5. Transport and storage

6. Connections

6.1. Electrical connection

230 V / 50 Hz / 1 Ph
IP 20
IP 68
10 A
250VAC / 6A
Accident prevention regulations and the generally
recognized rules of the art are to be complied with.
The equipment can be transported in an upright or
horizontal position, do not jerk or topple during trans-
port.
During extended storage the equipment must be
protected against moisture, heat and frost.
The equipment must be connected to a socket with
protective contact installed according to the regula-
tions. The mains fuse prescribed according to the
technical data must be adhered to. A professional
inspection prior to initial operation must ensure that
the required electrical protection measures are in
place. Grounding, zeroing, isolating transformer and
fault current circuit breaker (Fi, max. 30mA) must
comply with the regulations of the responsible power
supplier.
The voltage specified in the Technical Data must cor-
respond with the local power supply.
Make sure that the equipment and electrical connec-
tions are located in a flood-proof area and are pro-
tected from moisture. The power cord and plug must
be checked for damage before use.
