14.0 Installer Keypad Tools

The GV4 Series Control Panels do not support
the D5200 Programmer. Instead, a limited local
keypad programming mode is available.
The available keypad tools options include:
 Programming
 Service Bypass

RP Points
 RF Repeaters

RF Diagnostics
 IP Diagnostics
While installing or maintaining a control panel, it
is sometimes necessary to change the
configuration. To do so, a local keypad
programming menu is available in the Service
Menu. You can access the Service Menu when the
control panel is in stand-by mode or while it is
operating. Refer to the
D9412GV4/D7412GV4/D7212GV4 Program Entry
Guide (P/N: F01U218312) for an explanation of
the Tools Menu.
Accessing Local Keypad Programming when the
Control Panel is Operating (Reset Pin Open)
To access all keypad programming tools while the
control panel is operating:
1. Disarm all areas in the control panel.
Local keypad programming is only accessible
when all areas are disarmed.
2. At any D1255 or D1260 Keypad, press
[9][9][ENTER] to access the Service Menu.
3. Advance the menu to the Tools Menu option,
then press [ENTER] to enter the Tools Menu
mode.
4. Enter the Service passcode when prompted
and press [ENTER].
 Advance through the Tool Menu to find
the option you wish to use.
The Tools Menu option is only available when all
areas in the control panel are disarmed.
Accessing Installer Keypad Tools when the Control
Panel is in Standby Mode (Reset Pin Closed)
The control panel is in standby mode when the
Reset pin is closed. Refer to Figure 4 on page 18.
While the control panel is in standby mode, you
can access the Tools Menu through the Installer
Menu at one of two keypads with the following
restrictions:

 An unsupervised D1260 Keypad (all
versions) at SDI Bus Address 8.
The D1260 Keypad does not support SDI
Bus Address 16.
 An unsupervised D1255 Keypad (all
versions) at SDI Bus Address 16.
If a D1255 is set to SDI Bus Address 8,
then that keypad cannot be used to
access the Service Menu.

Only one keypad at a time is allowed to
be in use.
To access the Programming menu through the
Installer Menu when the control panel is in
standby mode:
1. From the keypad (D1260 at SDI Address 8 or
D1255 ad SDI Address 16), enter the Service
Passcode.
2. Advance the menu to the Programming
option.
3. Press [ENTER] to enter Programming.

14.1 RPS Access Reports

When a program is sent to the control panel from
RPS, the control panel sends a Prog Access OK
report 10 sec after the Reset Pin is unlocked, or
when the programmer disconnects. The prompt
in routing must be programmed Yes to send this
report.
