8 Use the arrow key to select EISA and press [Enter].
This changes the I/O base address setting.
9 Save the new configuration setting to the NIC by
selecting OK. Press [Enter].
10 Exit the program and remove the EtherDisk diskette.
11 Insert the EISA configuration utility diskette
provided with your PC.
12 Turn off the PC. Wait 10 seconds and then turn it
on again.
13 Follow the instructions that accompanied your EISA
PC to run the EISA configuration program.
When the program asks for .CFG files to copy, insert
the EtherDisk diskette, press [Enter], and use the
appropriate file:
!TCM5094.CFG for the 3C509B-COMBO NIC
!TCM5090.CFG for the 3C509B-TP NIC
!TCM5095.CFG for the 3C509B-TPO NIC
!TCM5098.CFG for the 3C509B-TPC NIC
If you are prompted for the wrong !TCM file:
a Turn off the PC and remove the NIC.
b Clean the metallic edge that slides into the slot.
c Place the NIC back into the PC, checking to make sure
You should now be prompted for the correct !TCM file.
Changing NIC Configuration from EISA to ISA
To reconfigure the NIC for an ISA PC:
1 Run the Install program as described earlier in
"Configuring the 3C509B NIC."
2 When the main menu appears, select Configuration
and Diagnostic Program.
3 If necessary, use the arrow keys to select the NIC
you want to configure. Tab to the Select button
and press [Enter].
