Replacing the
Maintenance Tank
The maintenance tank absorbs ink discharged
when cleaning the print head. There are three
maintenance tanks placed on the left, right, and
center of the rear of the printer. If the maintenance
tank icon indicates that the maintenance tank is
full or near full on the LCD panel, replace the
maintenance tank with a new one.
Confirming the free space of
the maintenance tank
Using the printer's control panel
The free space of the maintenance tank is always
displayed on the LCD panel.
See "Display" on page 13.
You can check the free space in the Printer Status
menu. You need to check it before printing a lot of
data. If the maintenance tank is nearly full,
prepare a new one.
See "Using the Menu mode" on page 15.
See "PRINTER STATUS" on page 22.
Using the printer driver
You can check the free space of the maintenance
tank on your computer by using EPSON Status
Monitor. The instructions are the same as
confirming the ink cartridge remaining.
See "Using the printer driver" on page 123.
