  • Page 18 As can be seen in the equation, the measurement result is independent of the lead- wire resistance, as long as all lead-wire resistances are equal and both current sources match. Therefore, to minimize measurement errors, use RTD with equal- length lead-wires and keep two current sources at equal output current values. iDAQ-815 User Manual...

As can be seen in the equation, the measurement result is independent of the lead- wire resistance. Unlike in 3-wire RTD measurement, the equal holds true even if lead-wire resistances do not match for 4-wire RTD measurement. iDAQ-815 User Manual...

With buffered analog input acquisition, the ADC conversion rate and the duration of the acquisition is controlled by hardware timing signals. All conversion results are sampled and stored in the buffer memory before sending back to the host computer as shown in Figure 3.2. iDAQ-815 User Manual...

    0 °C multiplied with 100 °C. For example, a Pt100 (385) RTD has a resistance of 100 Ω at 0 °C and 138.51 Ω at 100 °C. The temperature coefficient can be calculated by the following equation. iDAQ-815 User Manual...

With 3-wire RTDs, a much more accurate result can be obtained compared to 2-wire RTDs with a little more cost. In 4-wire configuration, the lead-wire resistances can be compensated completely and yield the best accuracy, but 4-wire RTDs are the most expensive ones. iDAQ-815 User Manual...
