— Place the wheelbrace on the wheel bolt or on the
attachment piece.
— Turn the bolt a maximum of half a turn so that
the wheel does not come loose and fall off.
Jacking points
The jacking points are on the bottom of the vehicle's
lower sill.

Positioning the jack and lifting the vehicle
— Use the jack from the tool kit.
— Position the jack at the jacking point closest to
the wheel to be replaced.
— Support the base plate of the jack with its full sur-
face resting on level ground and ensure that the
jack is located in a vertical position at the jacking
point.
— Use the crank to raise the jack until its claw enc-
loses the bar.
— Continue to lift the vehicle until the wheel is just
off the ground.
Changing a wheel
— Loosen the bolts and place them on a clean sur-
face.
— Carefully remove the original wheel.
— Fit the replacement wheel.
— Contact tighten the bolts.
— Lower the vehicle.
NOTICE
Applies to the factory built or the Volkswagen Genu-
ine Accessory range anti-theft bolt.

Install the anti-theft wheel bolt in the position
marked on the back of the wheel trim.
Tightening the bolts
— Tighten opposite wheel bolts, including the anti-
theft wheel bolt, one after the other.
— Reinstall the cover caps on the wheel bolts or the
full wheel covers.
Keep the label with the code number of the
anti-theft wheel bolts. Volkswagen Genuine
Parts can supply a replacement upper section.

What you should be mindful of
NOTICE

Always adjust the tyre pressure to the load.
·
Check the pressure in all tyres at least once
a month and before each long journey.
·
Check the pressure when the tyres are cold. Do
not reduce the higher pressure of warm tyres.
·
After each change in tyre pressure, save the new
values in the tyre control display.
WARNING
Risk of accident!
·
If the tyre pressure loss is very sudden, try to
stop the vehicle carefully without heavy steer-
ing or heavy braking.
