What you should be mindful of

Risk of death!
Fuel and fuel vapours are explosive.
NOTICE
Risk of serious damage to the engine and the ex-
haust system!

Never empty the fuel tank completely!
If you would like to operate your vehicle in a country
other than that intended for its use, please contact
a Volkswagen Partner. They can tell you whether
a suitable fuel is available in that particular country.

Engine, exhaust system and fuel
Regulations
Standards
Petrol must comply with EN 228 or NOM-016-
CRE-2016 standards.
Use only unleaded petrol that contains maximum
10 % bioethanol (E10) or maximum 5 % bioethanol
(E5), according to the label » page 107, Technical
data and specifications.
We recommend using petrol with additives,
which is available from petrol station pumps.
Octane number
Use petrol with the octane number specified for
your vehicle.
Petrol with a higher octane number than that speci-
fied for your vehicle can be used without restriction.
NOTICE
Risk of damage to the engine and the exhaust sys-
tem
·
When petrol with an octane number lower than
that specified is used, only continue driving at
mid-range engine speeds and with minimal strain
on the engine.

Refuel using petrol of the specified octane num-
ber as soon as possible.
·
Do not use petrol with an octane number lower
than 91.
The specified petrol is RON/ROZ 95/min. with 92 or
93 octane number
We recommend using petrol with 95 octane num-
ber.
Or you can use the petrol with 92 or 93 octane num-
ber. (with a minor power loss and slightly increased
fuel consumption).
In an emergency, 91 petrol can be used (with a mi-
nor power loss and slightly increased fuel consump-
tion).
The specified petrol RON/ROZ min. with 95 octane
number.
Use petrol with min. 95 octane number
Using higher octane petrol than 95 RON may result
in improved performance and lower fuel consump-
tion.
In an emergency, you can use petrol with 91, 92 or
93 octane number. (with a minor power loss and
slightly increased fuel consumption).
