13 Safekeeping and Storage
6. Using thumbs, press in the center of both the cap and the plug ends to ensure the cap/plug is firmly in place and the
canister is sealed.
7. Discard cap/plug after each use.
8. Store the facepiece per guidelines in
Storage Option 2: Storage using the hard case for gas masks (case sold separately)
NOTE: The hard case is sold separately. The part numbers listed are hard cases available for purchase.

1. Remove the canister from the box and bag.
2. Locate the white block on the canister label.
3. Mark on the canister, in the white block, an expiration date of 1 year (for formaldehyde canister, PN 10067470, an
expiration date of 6 months) from the date the canister was removed from the packaging. This expiration date must not
to exceed the original expiration date printed on the foil packaging.
5. Insert the plug end on the inlet of the canister as shown.

4. The canister must be attached to the facepiece with the plug side of the cap and plug
component secured into position.
