CHANGING THE BATTERY – Every Monday and Thursday The battery life on the CADD- SOLIS pump is approximately 120 hours (5 days) running at 10 ml/hr. 1. When the pump is off, turn the dial on the top of the pump to open the battery compartment 2.

ATTACHING NEW CASSETTE/TUBING Alternate pumps when changing the cassette/tubing 1. Wash Hands 2. Follow the pharmacy instructions for mixing the Alprostadil and filling the cassette 3. Remove the protective caps and connect the extension tubing to the cassette tubing, being careful to not let the tips of the catheter touch anything 4.

7. Insert the pump key into the cassette/keypad lock and turn clockwise to lock 8. Press the on/off switch (on the side of the pump) to turn on the pump 9. The screen displays “Do you want to start a new patient?” Press YES 10.

22. The screen displays “CONTINUE PRIMING” Press NO 23. Disconnect old tubing/pump from Chelsea’s PICC line, clean the end of the PICC line with a chlorhexadine wipe and attach new tubing/pump being careful to not touch the ends of the tubing. If the end is touched, wipe the end with a chlorhexadine wipe before attaching 24.

ALARMS HIGH PRIORITY ALARM screen is displayed and the pump will automatically stop SCREEN IS BLANK AND ALARM IS SOUNDING This means the pump has lost power and is no longer delivering any medication Plug the pump in (if it is not plugged in) Make sure the battery door is closed securely Change the batteries (if needed) and turn the pump back on BATTERY DEPLETED.
