Instructions for Use

TPS-mobile Mounting

Failure to comply with these installation instructions could result in the
WARNING
pump detaching from the system in the event of a rotor failure, which
could cause property damage or serious injury or death.
The TPS-mobile have to be placed on a flat floor.
Fix the TPS-mobile in a stable position by mounting the inlet flange of the
turbopump on the system counter-flange, with a connection capable of
withstanding a torque of:
250 Nm (Twistorr 74)
1000 Nm (Twistorr 305 FS, Twistorr 305 FSQ)
8600 Nm (Turbo-V 551)
around its axis.
The turbopump with ConFlat and ISO K inlet flange must be fixed to the vacuum
chamber by means of the appropriate Agilent hardware.

If TPS-mobile is equipped with turbomolecular pumps of smaller or the same size
as TwisTorr 305 FS, the pump can be turned on even if installed on TPS-mobile.
If TPS-mobile is equipped with pumps of sizes bigger than 305 FS, it can be used
only to enable the pump (turbo pump off) that must be installed by means of its
inlet flange in the customer's system prior to activate TPS-mobile.
Before starting the pump, check the oil level of Rotary Vane Pump.
CAUTION
The TPS-mobile equipped with pumps larger than 305 FS cannnot be fixed
CAUTION
through its base, nor through other flanges that are not inlet.
The System must be installed in a way that allows an easy interruption of
WARNING
the line voltage.
Assure a free space all around the system at minimum of 20cm to allow proper

air circulation.
