Note – Only use bar code labels that have been designed for CompacTape
cartridges. Do not adhere labels to a cartridge anywhere except the slide-in slot.
To Set the Write-Protect Switch
Each CompacTape cartridge has a write-protect switch (FIGURE 2-20). This switch
determines whether new data can be written to the cartridge (write enabled) or
whether data on the cartridge is protected from being erased or overwritten (write
protected).
To write-protect the cartridge, move the switch to the left (as indicated by the
arrow in FIGURE 2-20). To write-enable the cartridge, leave the switch in default
condition (to the right).
An orange indicator appears above the switch when the cartridge is
write-protected.
