Troubleshooting

This table is intended to assist in resolving user-correctable Refrigerator problems by relating symptoms to
their likely causes. If service beyond the scope of this table is required, contact Fisher Scientific Service
Division at 1-800-438-4851.
Symptom
Does not run.
Runs continuously.
Clicking sound.
Insufficient cooling.

Probable Cause
Unit unplugged.
Blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
Frost buildup on refrigeration
coils.
Note: Evaporator freeze-up can
be caused by improper offset (oS)
value.
The compressor is equipped with
a thermal protector. This device
shuts off the compressor when it
becomes too hot. A clicking sound
occurring about every 30 seconds
indicates this protector is working.
Set temp is too high.
Offset (oS) value is too low.
Condenser coil dirty.
Unit frosted.
Evaporator frozen.
Action
Plug in unit.
Check fuse or circuit breaker at
breaker box.
Turn unit off and allow it to defrost.
Disconnect power and allow unit to
sit for about an hour, then retry. If
condition persists, call for service.
Reduce temperature setting, verify
Cool LED is on.
Increase offset value.
Clean condenser coil with a vacuum
cleaner.
Defrost unit.
Verify internal circulating fans are
operating.
