Instruction Manual
If the "invalid" message appears when the function is switched over to "pulse", the following can occur:
· Pulse valency is too high for the set upper value ----> change required in menu 4.2.3.
· Flow and totalizer are not uniformly set to volume or mass flow (only possible under PROFIBUS) ---->
change volume or mass flow switchover (channel switchover using PROFIBUS)
Signal Type (menu 4.2.2)
Only passive signals with selectable signal logic (positive or negative) are available for this output, i.e. the
output acts as a switch and may have to be connected to an external supply (current limiter, see
chapter 1.3, page 7, of the basic unit operating manual).
Pulse valency (menu 4.2.3)
The pulse valency is the number of pulses per quantity unit of the net totalizer (menu 3.7.2) and is only
required for the "Pulse" function. The maximum possible pulse valency is limited by the selected "Upper
value" on the flow measuring scale (menu 3.1.8.3).
Pulse width (menu 4.2.4)
This parameter is only required for the "Pulse" function and is calculated automatically from the pulse
valency (menu 4.2.3) and the upper value on the measuring scale (menu 3.1.7.3). The value can actually
also be entered but it will be recalculated when "pulse valency" or "upper value" on the flow measuring
scale are changed. The minimum pulse width is 100 ms.

Code (menu 6.1, 6.2)

A 4-digit personal code number (customer code) can be entered under the "Change Code" menu 6.2. The
local write protection is activated for values >0, i.e. the menu can basically still be accessed but
parameters cannot be changed.
This code has to be entered under the "Enter Code" menu 6.1 to remove the local write protection.
Enabling is only possible after the correct code has been entered and if the general write protection is not
enabled on the PROFIBUS (WRITE_LOCKING parameter). See chapter 4.3, page 27 for details).
The write protection will be enabled again automatically the next time the system is switched to the
"Display" menu.
