SECURING STITCHES

Firm fabric, 4" x 6", three pieces;
fold in half lengthwise to 2" x 6"*
80/12 Universal
Polyester or cotton embroidery thread
Center
Reverse Pattern Foot #1/1C/1D
Optional: Quilting Seam Guide or
Seam Guide with Ruler
NOTE:

Place one fabric piece under the Presser Foot, aligning
the 6" cut edge with the 5/8" guide line on the Stitch
Plate.
Select the straight stitch. Sew a few stitches forward,
then press and hold the Quick Reverse Button on the
machine as you sew a few stitches backward; the
machine will sew in reverse until the Quick Reverse
Button is released.
Continue stitching the seam; secure the end in the
same way.
Select the Securing Program #5 (b). Begin to sew on
2nd piece of fabric; machine will automatically take five
straight stitches forward and back at the beginning to
secure the stitching.
At the end of the seam, press and release the Quick
Reverse button. The machine will automatically take
five stitches backward, five stitches forward to secure
the stitching, and then stop.
Select the Quilter's Securing Program (#1324 for 7/8
Series/#1301 for 4/5 Series (c). Begin to sew on 3rd
piece of fabric; the machine will take 6 short stitches
forward at the beginning to secure stitching, then
continue stitching forward.
At the end of the seam, press and release the Quick
Reverse button. The machine will take 6 short stitches
forward to secure and then stop.
