DOL 635 • DOL 639 1 Guidelines This user manual deals with the daily operation of the house controller. The manual provides the fundamental knowledge about the functions of the controller that is required to ensure optimum use of it.
• S (Small) • L (Large) DOL 635 includes production functionality such as dry feeding, water, light and 24-hour clock, while DOL 634 in- cludes the basic production features such as light, water and 24-hour clock. A combination of climate and production functionality can be achieved by combining DOL 634 and DOL 635 system software.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 3 Operating instructions 3.1 Operation The climate and production controller is operated by means of the touch display. The view in the display is called a page. You can scroll both up/down and right/left to see the entire page.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 3.2 Two-house variant Two-house house controllers have house keys for the individual house and a shared front view. Press the house key to display a shared front view for both houses. Press to access the overview.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 3.6 Pages A page is a user-defined display of selected values, graphs and settings. Pages therefore provide quick access to reading and operation. We recommend that you create a number of pages to show exactly the functions and values used in the individ- ual house and that cover the needs of the daily user.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 Click on to adjust the inside temperature to the required temperature in the house. Adjustment: +/- 0.5 Next possible adjustment: in two hours. Humidity The controller displays the current air humidity. Click on to adjust the humidity to the required air humidity in the house.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 3.6.2.2 House view This view provides a graphic overview of the house with selected values and settings. First select the angle of the house illustration. The illustration is shown in the small picture to the right. Then select to hide or display the house, the chimneys and the silos.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 3.6.2.3 Program overview This page makes it possible to see various types of programs on the same page. The graphic view makes it easy to gain an overview of how the programs have been setup in relation to each other.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 3.6.3 Creating pages We recommend that you create a number of pages to show exactly the functions and values used in the individ- ual house and that cover the needs of the daily user. The pages work as shortcuts to the key values and settings and therefore gives you quick access to reading val- ues and changing the settings.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 Press the one of the tools to edit headlines or card content, to move or delete the cards. Edit Move Delete When a tool is selected, the icons on the cards change to reflect the tool.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 3.6.4 Edit pages All pages can be edited by pressing the gear wheel in the bot- tom right corner. Select a top card for the page. Select the page content (cards). Open the menu , see also Creating pages [} 17].

DOL 635 • DOL 639 Activating/deactivating functions Functions can be activated and deactivated by means of the toggle button. Scroll up/down If the page or menu is higher than the display, you can scroll up/down. The possibility to scroll is shown by the arrows in the display.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 3.8 Search in menus It is easy to search for the individual functions of the controller. Open the page by pressing Settings Use the search field to the left to search in menus. Enter at least 3 characters to search.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 4.1 Animals The menu can be used to keep track of the current number of animals in the livestock house. The information regarding the number of stocked and transferred animals for example helps to form the basis for the controller’s calculations for production control.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 Choose the controller you want to move the animals to. Enter the number of animals to be moved. The menu shows the number of moved pigs and where they were moved to. If a controller is offline, the animals are not moved to it, instead they are just removed from the current controller.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 4.3 Light control This section is relevant only to houses with a light control. 4.3.1 Light program The light control function works by means of a 24-hour clock with up to 16 light programs. The controller maintains each light programs start and stop times from one day number to the next. This means that if you have one light program for day 1 and a new light program on day 7, the days 2-6 will follow the light program for day 1.

See section Manual start of feeding [} 30]. Feed program Setting for when and how many times feeding is necessary. See also the Feed programs [} 31] section.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 4.4.1 Manual start of feeding If you want to start a feeding before the scheduled time, you can activate the feed line though the controller menu or with an external button. The manual feeding will start immediately and run until the feed line is filled.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 4.4.3 Feed programs The time control of feeding is regulated using the feed programs. The feeding follows a pre-determined pro- gram, which determines at what time of day feed is to be administered. If the time it takes the animals to eat suddenly changes, this can be an indication of problems which ought to be checked further.

When feed is delivered, the production controller updates the quantity of feed in the silos based on the information you enter.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 24-hour clock with week program The week program determines which days the 24-hour clock is If an ON-time runs past midnight on a day when the 24-hour clock is not active, the function will remain ON until the time has elapsed.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 4.9 Feed weigher This section is relevant only to houses with feed weigher. The production controller provides information on the filling of the weigher and the current status of the weigher. This can be used in connection with calibration.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 There is no automatic adaptation in relation to summer and winter time, as some animal types are very sensitive to changes in their circadian rhythm. If you want the controller to follow the local time for summer and winter time, you must therefore manually change the time setting by +/- 1 hour.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 6 Alarms Alarms only work when the status is Active house The only exceptions are alarm test and alarms for CAN communication and temperature surveil- lance for Empty house When an alarm occurs, the house controller will register the alarm type and the time it occurred.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 6.2 Alarm test Regular alarm tests help to ensure that the alarms actually work when needed. Therefore you should test the alarms every week. Activate to start testing. Alarm test Check that the alarm lamp is flashing.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 When the problem is solved, you can run manual feeding or wait for the feed program’s next feeding. Feed weigher No feed to feed weigher The alarm is triggered when the feed weigher determines that no feed is com- ing from the silos.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 This alarm indicates that the water/ feed ratio does not follow the reference Water/feed ratio (with water meter) curve. Possible reasons: 1) Defective water system 2) Sick animals 3) Feed inaccuracies However, note that the water/ feed ratio may be increased in houses without cooling systems when the outside temperature is high.
DOL 635 • DOL 639 The alarm is triggered if the water consumption measured by a water meter is Not enough water alarm too low during a given period of time. It is recommended to set this alarm to 1,0 l/min. and a monitoring time to 30 minutes.

DOL 635 • DOL 639 7 Maintenance instructions The house controller requires no maintenance to function correctly. You should test the alarm system every week. Use only original spare parts. Note that the service life of the house controller will be extended if it stays connected all the time, as this will keep it dry and free from condensation.
